SkyShield RF-Detect AI-Driven Drone Detection
Machine Learning + Software-Defined Radio for Airspace Security
Overview
SkyShield RF-Detect delivers passive, RF-based awareness of drones operating near your
airspace. Built on a software-defined radio (SDR) foundation and advanced machine learning,
SkyShield continuously scans key UAS control bands, detects drone transmissions, and classifies
the platform—providing early, actionable intelligence even when radar or cameras can’t see the
threat.
Multi-band monitoring (433 MHz / 2.4 GHz / 5.8 GHz)
Machine Learning powered classification of drone model/manufacturer.
Passive, covert detection (no emissions)
Scalable: single site or distributed, geolocated coverage
Key Capabilities
Multi-Band Coverage
Detects and monitors drones across the most common control bands (433 MHz, 2.4 GHz,
5.8 GHz) — adaptable to new frequencies as threats evolve.
AI Machine Learning - Powered Classification
Analyzes each drone’s unique RF “fingerprint” to identify its manufacturer and model,
delivering confidence-scored alerts in real time.
Passive & Covert Operation
Listens silently with no emissions — ideal for sensitive sites or operations requiring low
profile and zero interference.
Networked Geolocation
SkyShield node clusters triangulate a drone’s position using Time Difference of Arrival
(TDOA) and Frequency Difference of Arrival (FDOA). This improves the accuracy of radio source localization by combining distance-based and Doppler-based measurements to pinpoint its source and flight path.
Open & Extensible Architecture
Built on Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and GNU Radio, the platform integrates seamlessly with your existing command systems, analytics dashboards, or standard interfaces (REST APIs and SDKs).
Operator-Friendly Interface
A unified dashboard shows live spectrum views, event logs, and confidence metrics — with exportable reports for post-event analysis.
How It Works
SkyShield listens to UAS control links, extracts signal features, classifies the drone, and presents a confidence-scored alert. Optional distributed nodes enable bearing and location estimation.
Performance Highlights
Field-validated RF detection with model-level classification
Line-of-sight, km-class sensitivity with directional antennas
Robust to typical interference and multipath environments
Open & Extensible Architecture
SkyShield is built on Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and GNU Radio, meaning its core functions are software-controlled rather than fixed hardware. This makes it flexible, modular, and easy to update.
Because the system uses standard interfaces (REST APIs and SDKs), it can connect directly with your existing:
Command systems – to share live alerts or integrate into security operations.
Analytics dashboards – to visualize detections and historical trends.
Custom applications – allowing developers to build on SkyShield’s data and capabilities.
In short, it’s designed to plug in easily to whatever tools you already use—without requiring a proprietary ecosystem.
Use Cases
Airports & Critical Infrastructure
Real-time alerts for restricted airspace and perimeters.
Defense & Public Safety
Tactical situational awareness without active emissions.
Event Security
Rapid-deploy kits for stadiums and VIP venues.
Spectrum Managers
Detect/triage interference and rogue transmitters.
Enterprise & Campus
Monitor authorized fleets, detect unauthorized platforms.
